"Show Your Voice" is the theme for the 2022-2023 Reflections Art Program which has been bringing the arts to life for more than 10 million students since 1969.

Create an Original Work 

Only new and original works inspired by the selected Reflections theme will be accepted. Enter in one or more of the following arts categories. Please note these are the rules for 2021-2022, the rules for 2022-2023 have not been released but should be similar.

Submit Your Entry 

• Entry Form -- will be available by the end of September 2022
• Please pay attention to the rules for each art category linked above and note that our council does NOT accept 3-d art work.
• KiMS Reflections Deadline is TBD, fall 2022.

Each student submission must include a completed Student Entry Form with artist statement:  

• Ideas of what to include in an artist statement: How does your work relate to the theme? What is your personal connection to the theme? What did you use to create your work? What/Who was your inspiration? 
• Artist statement cannot exceed 100 words. 

Judging Criteria 

Volunteer judges look for personal interpretations on the theme that best exemplify creativity and technical skill.

• Interpretation: How closely the piece relates to the theme, based on the artwork itself and the artist statement.

• Creativity: How creative and original the piece is in its conception of the theme and its presentation. 
• Technique: The level of skill demonstrated in the basic principles/techniques of the arts area.  

Recognition Awards  

• All students will be recognized for their submissions.  
• Winning entries may advance to the district, state, and national levels.
